Personal data
Privacy policy.
What this site collects, why, who the data is passed to, how long we keep it, and how to have it deleted. Written to be read, not to cover us.

Who handles your data
DODAI STUDIO株式会社, a Japanese company registered in Sumida ward, Tokyo, under number 0106-01-069498.
The representative director is Alexandre Sébastien Gérard. For any question about this page or about your data, write to alexandre@dodai-studio.com.
What we collect, and only when you give it
The site asks for nothing until you fill in a form. There are four of them.
The contact form collects your name, your email address, the nature of your enquiry and your message.
The newsletter sign-up collects your email address and the language you read the site in.
A document download collects your email address, in exchange for the file.
The quote request collects your answers to the questions asked, your name, your email address, and if you give them, your phone number and the name of your business. No question asks about your revenue or your budget.
What we don't collect
No advertising trackers, no profiling, nothing sold on. The site does measure its audience, but anonymously and on our own servers: that is described just below.
The server that serves these pages keeps a technical request log, IP addresses included, as any web server does. It exists to diagnose a failure, not to follow you.
How we measure our audience
This site counts its visits with Umami, a tool we host on our own server, alongside our other services. No analytics data goes to Google, or to any other third party.
Umami sets no cookie and stores nothing in your browser. It does not follow you from one visit to the next and builds no profile. What it records: the page viewed, its address parameters (including the campaign tags that tell us which link brought you), the page that sent you, the country, the device type and the browser, all in aggregate.
It respects your browser's Do Not Track setting: if that is on, your visit is not counted. And since there is no cookie and no identifier, there is nothing to consent to, so still no banner.
It also counts a few gestures: which call-to-action button was clicked, and the fact that a form was sent. What you write in a form never passes through it: the contents go to our processing automation, as described below.
What gets stored in your browser
Two things, and nothing else.
The language switcher sets a cookie called dodai_lang, which holds nothing but a language code: fr, en or ja. It lasts a year.
It exists because without it, a visitor on an English-language browser who clicks "FR" would be sent back to the English version a second later. It carries no personal data and follows nobody, which is also why this site shows no banner.
The prompt that appears as you scroll remembers that you closed it, for the life of the tab. It is a bare closed-or-not mark, with no identifier and no date, erased when you close the tab.
The Japanese typeface
Pages in Japanese load a typeface from Google Fonts. Google therefore receives your IP address when you read a Japanese page, as it would for any resource served by a third party.
The French and English pages call no outside server: their typefaces are hosted here.
Who your data is passed to
What you send through a form goes to our processing automation, which passes it to three tools, and to those only.
HubSpot, for the contact record and commercial follow-up.
Brevo, to send the weekly letter, if you subscribed to it.
Notion, to keep a history of quote requests so they can be read back.
Your data is never sold, rented, or passed to a third party for advertising. These tools are established outside Japan, which means your data is transferred abroad.
What we do with our clients' data
One of our services connects a venue’s tools and brings its customers into a single list. In that work we handle data on behalf of our clients, not on our own account.
Those lists belong to the venue, are opened in its name, and stay with it if it leaves us. The terms of that handling are set by contract with each client.
How long we keep it
Twenty-four months without an exchange on your side, then deletion.
A newsletter subscription lasts as long as you read it: every issue carries a one-click unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing deletes the address.
Your rights
You can ask to see the data we hold about you, to have it corrected, to have it deleted, or to withdraw your consent.
One address for all of it, alexandre@dodai-studio.com. We answer within thirty days, and the request is free.
If this page changes
The date at the top marks the last change. Anything that affects how your data is used will be told to you, not slipped into a silent revision.
